Myr grian, which means like a sun in Manx Gaelic, is an album inspired by a language that has fought hard to survive. It celebrates the language as a sustaining force of the island’s music, culture and identity.

From raw arrangements of traditional tunes and songs collected by the likes of Mona Douglas, to energetic new compositions inspired by Tom Taggart and his sinning cello and whisky loving native Manx speakers, there are many shades and threads to the music.
